National Health IT Week begins September 16.

Next Monday, September 16, marks the start of the eighth annual National Health IT Week, a country-wide event intended to raise awareness about the benefits of chiropractic EHR and other aspects of health IT. Medical practitioners, legislators and the general public alike will be coming together at various events to learn more about the evolution and implementation of these programs, and chiropractors across the United States have a chance to take part.

"Comprehensive healthcare reform is not possible without system-wide adoption of health information technology, which improves the quality of healthcare delivery, increases patient safety, decreases medical errors, and strengthens the interaction between patients and healthcare providers," the official website states. "There is no better time for the health IT community to come together under one umbrella to raise national awareness!"

HIMSS officials discussed the week-long campaign during a recent webinar, and said that 300 organizations had already signed on to partake in various events. Thus far, the agenda includes conferences regarding clinical image distribution, analytics and an overview of interoperability potential.

If you're interested in learning more about chiropractic EHR, or want to teach your patients and personnel more about the power of digitized documents, National Health IT week is the perfect opportunity to do so. In the informational webinar, which was covered by Healthcare IT News, HIMSS senior manager of public policy communications Elinore Boeke urged physicians to broadcast their involvement in this event, both online and off, to give interested parties a chance to learn more.

Adopting chiropractic EHR can benefit a practice in many ways, but not all programs are created equal. To truly reap the rewards of this conversion, it is essential to invest in chiropractic EHR software that is intuitive and accompanied by the training and ongoing support of a responsive provider.
