Chiropractic EHR facilitates the transmission of vital patient details between medical practitioners to a degree that has never been seen before, empowering practitioners to gain a full insight into each individual's clinical history before making a diagnosis. This is one of the most substantial advantages of EHR implementation, particularly in rural areas where medical facilities may be relatively remote.

With this in mind, HealthcareIT News reports that the government of Arkansas has introduced an incentive program to encourage hospitals throughout the state to take part in its Health IT Exchange, known as the State Health Alliance for Records Exchange or SHARE.

"These small hospital systems are a critical part of the Arkansas healthcare network. Having them connect to SHARE will give them access to more complete health information about their patients, and improve their ability to coordinate their patients' care with other providers," said Ray Scott, director of Arkansas' Office of Health Information Technology in a press release from the Delta Regional Authority.

Hospitals that take part in the program may be eligible for financial awards of up to $10,000, which could be put toward implementation costs. The goal behind this program? To push hospitals in the state to overcome any lingering hesitation about EHR adoption and ultimately strengthen the state's health care system as a whole by joining the network.

Of course, often it isn't simply the cost of chiropractic EHR software but the question of usability that leaves some practitioners reluctant to take this step. This is precisely why you must do your due diligence in terms of research before committing to a provider. Before investing in EHR software, take time to familiarize yourself with the different interfaces available to determine which product could best be adapted to your day-to-day operations, and ask questions about training and technical support before any agreements are signed.
