Technology is found everywhere in today's world. It has become so fully integrated in our society that we would find everyday life difficult without it.

For example, when driving to work, an individual might forget if he or she turned off the iron in the morning, which would require someone to check his or her house. That person would instantly call or text their neighbor to quickly check their house. Without a cell phone, we would be lost.

Technological advances have made our life much easier and saved us precious time. Chiropractic services that implement technology also improve patient care and bring greater efficiency to a medical practice.

Within the healthcare field, software vendors are very competitive now that meaningful use incentives urge chiropractors to purchase EHR systems. Chiropractors could use this competition to their advantage, and since many products are now less costly and impressive, affordable EHR software can be purchased effortlessly, according to an August 2011 article from The American Chiropractor.

There are various technological solutions available in the chiropractic field. These include an automated credit card payment system, digital X-rays, the subjective system and the efficiency control system.

The automated payment system improves a chiropractor's billing system and quickens payment processing. One feature this system has is the ability to update all patient financial files on a weekly or monthly basis.

Digital X-rays allow a chiropractor to view a patient's X-rays on their computer during every patient visit. Along with this, images of a patient's posture can be viewed.

The subjective system allows a patient to produce his or her own subjective section of the chiropractic SOAP notes. On arrival, a patient can swipe a health card through a reader attached to a touch screen computer. The patient will then have a chance to answer questions personalized to his or her care.

An efficiency control system sends office statistics to a chiropractor's smartphone or email on a daily basis. This allows a chiropractor to save time and gain assurance that  the office is running smoothly.

When looking to purchase affordable EHR software, a chiropractor should consider obtaining web-based EHR software as this would save on installation costs.
